The Monday March 5, 2015 class at GMS has been moved to the Stittsville Community Centre for that night only.
Due to the March Break holidays (March 16-20 inclusive) there will be NO classes as all the gym facilities are closed!
All classes will resume their normal schedule on the following week (March 23rd). Master Yeoh and all the instructors wish our students a safe March Break holiday!
Master Stephen Yeoh is a former two-time Canadian gold medal TaeKwonDo full-contact sparring champion.
Over the past 30 years, Master Yeoh (a.k.a. Lord Yo) has trained thousands of students, many of whom have attained their black belt. Many of these students are now carrying on his philosophy and teaching techniques, some running their own schools independently, in different parts of the world. His reputation for openness and acceptance of the validity of other martial arts has enabled him to form alliances with many quality instructors from different martial arts. Master Yeoh believes that exposing his students to these other martial arts enriches their learning experience.
Master Yeoh is a respected 6th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and also holds black-belts in other systems (Karate and Ju-Jitsu). He has been providing martial arts instruction for over 30 years in the Ottawa area and travels extensively to Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines) to train with other masters in order to bring the best techniques to his clients. His passion in unarmed combat strategies and weapons is widely respected and well received from many clients of different martial arts.
He is also a certified fitness master trainer and is sought out by many professional elite athletes in different sports. Master Yeoh is an excellent strength coach who can bench press 315 lbs. Master Yeoh has provided many excellent and interesting seminars empowering women to protect themselves and he designed the Creative Self-Defense Strategies (CSC) program specifically for his female clients. His classes are fun and relaxed, and students are encouraged to pace themselves accordingly. Master Yeoh is unique in his ability to coach students to replicate and create techniques that will work for their body type and personality.
Master Yeoh is a head instructor and an examiner for many TaeKwonDo clubs. He is a frequent guest lecturer and consultant for law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, and government agencies. Master Yeoh is a respected local martial art instructor who is recognized for his coaching and motivational skills for students of all ages in the region of Ottawa-Carleton. His non-martial arts passions are skydiving, scuba diving, snorkeling, hang gliding and many other adrenaline rush sports.
